Getting ready for winter

The kids love to ride in the tractor bucket,
well all but one of the kids loves it!

Jonathan likes it much better when it is on the ground...

This year Mark and the kids had a great time getting wood ready for the winter. Mark made the "best purchase of 2008" when he rented a log splitter to chop the wood for him! We have never rented one and boy do we highly recommend it! It was so fast and fascinating to watch! Then after Mark got all the wood split, he had Danica and Ellie (and the boys helped some) load up the wood into the tractor bucket and the girls each got to take turns driving the tractor over to the barn where we store wood! What a treat!

And the even better part for the girls, is that they worked so hard that Daddy gave them a special and big surprise!!! They got to drive our pick up truck in our field all by themselves. Dad just sat next to them and they got to drive where ever in the field they wanted to, they even got to do the gas pedal!

That is some good livin'!

Hey, so Dylan is wondering if Danica and Ellie want to give him driving lessons. That way he could run to the store for me! What a great country life! So fun.
