Coffee, cameras and comradery

What happens when you get five weary women

able to get together for a weekend

with one week's notice?

Lots of trips to Starbucks...of course.

Here we learned that one of the members of the group

(who shall remain nameless)

doesn't like coffee (or tea)...what a shame.

It led to our devotion for the weekend...

We had many mini lessons with our cameras...

were introduced to new music,

and revisited some old music (thank you very much)...

We visited a friend's winery...

learned who the smart one in the group was...

We shared our lives,

our stories,

our music,

a bloomin' onion,

and butter, I mean, bread.

Here's Nicole, of Mannina Cellars.

She and her husband started this winery several years ago...

Nicole's husband and my husband were roommates years ago in college.

Nicole and I did Bible Study Fellowship together,

and in our early years of marriage we lived in the same neighborhood.

More Starbucks.

And fun with our cameras.

And tears.

And laughter.

And buying mugs to remember our weekend...

question was, handle or no handle?

And Marie.

Dancing.

And singing.

With her ipod.

So fun!

Some of us, (I won't use any names),

moved up in technology.

Look closely and you'll see an ANTENNA on that phone!?!

Someone got a new phone when she got home.

With texting! Wow.

Good thing I'm not the type to make fun of people...

Refreshed, hearts full, encouraged.

The weekend lives on and helps us face the days to come,

knowing we are not alone,

that others are helping us carry our burdens,

that God provides, loves, holds us up.

That you can always order more butter.

That even if you choose the mug with a handle, people will still be your friend.

That it is better to not like coffee, but if you like it, drink it.

We all get by with a little help from our friends...

And THAT is what you get when you take five women,

who surprisingly had the weekend free,

and a week's notice.
