Dr. Seuss' birthday was March 2nd.
We thought it would be fun to celebrate his birthday
like we did a couple of years ago...

This year, The Lorax movie came out on Dr. Seuss'
birthday, so we sacrificed a weeks worth of meals to go see it.
(Have you brought a family of six to a movie lately??
It is expensive!! Sheesh.)
Mark was off, so he got to join in on the fun!
We made a day of it, then came home and made a cake.
What's a birthday without a cake?
We have been experimenting with cake pops
and fondant lately...
This was a team effort.
Danica baked the cake.
We all put our brains together to make the plan.
Ellie made the bear and helped with the Lorax.
We all added the finishing touches...
and then ate it quick before the fondant softened too much!?!
Apparently I need to continue my experimenting with
fondant...don't have that one figured out yet.
We did use marshmallow fondant
which tastes better than the fondant fondant.
(I used the marshmallow creme as some of the
comments suggested for this recipe...)
We had a fun family day,
and that's what matters most...
