WARNING: This answered prayer is not in the answer.
So far, nothing has changed.
We have not sold our house.
We are not moving.
Yet.
I am just so excited about how God has already
answered my specific prayers and has showed
me His love and provision.
Even without an "answer"...
We have lived in our house for almost 14 years.
In the last 11 years, we have done 3 major remodels,
and 7 years of subdividing the property around us.
(Long story, filled with testimony after testimony of God's goodness to us,
through many trials and hardships along the way...
a coffee date conversation for sure...
let's just say, I doubt we will ever try to subdivide any land again.
It is NOT fun.)
For many years we thought it would be fun
to build a house in the back of our property.
It is beautiful, back off the road,
gorgeous view of the mountain.
After the torture of subdividing,
plus three other intense challenges that lasted over
a period of three years, we are tired.
Building a house seems overwhelming.
We have been trying to sell the lots on either side of our house,
lots of bites, but no buyers, yet.
My amazing husband who can really do anything he sets out to do
set up a website to help sell our lots.
(See side bar for link.)
Here's where the be careful what you pray for begins...
We have two lots listed on the website.
We have been praying and trying to figure out
what our next step/move will be,
but have no clear direction.
So I started praying specifically.
That God would bring us buyers.
Duh, we have been advertising and that can happen,
and we have had many people looking to buy them...
But the crazy part, is I have been praying also
that God would bring someone to buy our house,
if that is what He wants for us.
We don't have it listed, and we actually found out
that to list it we have to do a few things
that we just are too tired to want to do.
(call us lazy...whatever!)
Well, a few weeks ago we got a call.
From a guy who said he looked at our
website and he is interested in buying our house.
WHAT??
Mark asked a few questions and stated
that he was a little caught off guard since
our house isn't listed for sale.
BUT, we are not opposed to selling it!!
So we set up that they could come out and see it.
Three weeks went by with failing attempts,
honestly I can't believe they pressed on.
If it were me, I'd have said,
"Mark, I don't think they want to sell it."
Crazy missed calls, snow that wouldn't go away.
But they did come see it.
Last weekend.
And they LOVED it.
They have two little kids, and it was so sweet to see
their four year old boy running around the backyard,
having the time of his life!
It fits them.
The man said, "Well, we like it. So what do we do next?"
Ummm...ok.
So we gave them a price, which was in their ballpark!
They are going to do a little more research on the area
to make sure for sure they want to live out here.
And they are going to talk to their lender.
The fun part of this story is it isn't over.
But God already answered my prayer.
By sending someone who wants to buy it,
He showed me that HE can do anything.
I know that even if they don't want to/can't buy our house,
God's timing is perfect and He will get us
exactly where we need to be.
I love living in the peace of the hand of my
Loving Father.
And sometimes He surprises us with answered prayers
that are JUST what we want.
Other times, He answers by having us wait.
Wait on His timing.
Which we have done a lot of in the past 10 years...
At least with this one, we don't even know what we want.
We are resting with yet another open hand,
rejoicing that God already answered my prayer,
and anticipating what new exciting adventure lies ahead.
I'll keep you posted on how this story ends...
sorry, but you have to wait, too!!

So excited for you guys, Tara! It's truly amazing to see how God works in His time. :)
This is so awesome Tara - Hoping everything goes well for this family and you guys. But we know that it will all be part of God's perfect plan. In the meantime, you and Mark are a living testimony to faithfulness under extreme difficulty. I just love your family. Karen
Thanks for including us in God's Adventure for you. :)
We are praying for you-
while we wait with you.
