This week I got another year closer to 40.
It ended up being one of my favorite birthdays...
So much so, that I can't fit it all in one post.
Here is part one:
The Cake
It all began with a plan...
Mark decided to divide the cake into four sections-
that way each kid got to put their touch on it.
While Mark was helping the boys get their ideas,
the girls were mixing colors.
The boys were working so hard to make it just right!
More party planning went on with Ellie in charge
of the decorating committee.
They made signs on the computer and each signed
them, (which is why Mark is using a flower pen...)
then hung them around the room.
(This will be in a later post.)
Then it was time for the girls to do their thing.
Ellie took on the difficult task of writing on the cake,
and on the side, even more challenging!!
And now...
beginning with the youngest...
Here is Stephen's quarter of the cake.
A daisy, of course.
This boy knows his momma.
And Jonathan drew me on the top of the cake.
And him on the side of the cake.
Red hair and all!!
Ellie made flowers, a beautiful border,
sprinkles and the message!
And Danica made a really cool flower,
a variety of borders and a splash of sprinkles.
Here is the final product.
A well thought out plan by the dad,
and lots of creativity by the kids!
A proud me with my very thoughtful kids!
And looky here.
This guy did ALL the dishes!
It was a great day indeed!
